Fall Networking Event

Thanksgiving Greetings, Heartlanders,

I hope you all enjoyed a day of feasting and fair weather, it looks like winter will be upon us in short order.

Speaking of Feasting, don’t forget to RSVP for our Fall Networking Event with the Japan-America Society and KCTA (Kansas Consortium for Teachers about Asia).

We will gather for a Japanese Food Tasting and Meishi Koukan (bonus points to those of you who get the pun, there) at Sushi Gin (9559 Nall Ave., OP, KS) Sunday, Dec. 4th.  Registration and cocktails (pay as you go, sorry) at 1:30, event begins at 2:00.  There will be no charge to members for the tasting and teas are included.

There will be 10 courses including some favorites and a couple of dishes you may not have had in some time.  We will also make mochi as the finale.

PLEASE RSVP by WEDNESDAY, Nov. 30.  We will try to accommodate latecomers, but no promises this time as we have limited seating and many guests from JAS and KCTA.  We are expecting over 100 attendees so this will be an excellent networking opportunity.

Also, please take note of these documents (zip file here) regarding the JET Ambassador Project sponsored by the Japanese Embassy.  It’s like the old School Visit program but better.  If you have any questions, let me know.  You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with this information so you can disseminate it in your areas and discuss it at the event.

And finally, save the 17th of December for our Bonenkai, I mean Winter Networking Event and January 22nd for our Shinnenkai, I mean Returnee Welcome Reception and Networking Event…  More details on these events will follow shortly.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a Good Yule,

Warren McAllen
